Challenge:  Create a better workflow without increasing the practice’s footprint

Reconfigure existing space so it would work better for the entire team
Create more exam rooms and an office within the same 2,200 square feet

Dr. Koryn Swearingen of Village Veterinary Clinic in Grayslake, Illinois, recalled the first day she saw the building that would eventually become her animal hospital. “I saw it was a veterinary clinic and thought, that’s going to be mine someday. I just know it.”

Before long, it was. Staff and services grew, and people told Dr. Swearingen to build bigger. “But I wanted to stay small. That’s why I decided to remodel.” Her territory manager and equipment specialist brought her to a Guiding Practice Success event, where Patterson’s on-staff designer helped her envision what she wanted and consider what could be possible.

Of the design expertise Swearingen tapped into, she said it helped her realize that there was so much potential for her practice even though she needed to stay within the original footprint. “He also helped me find a floor design that would allow me to accommodate equipment that allowed us to increase profit margins.”
