All the Bells and Whistles: Burnt Store Animal Hospital
Punta Gorda, Florida
Challenge: Create a brand-new practice that keeps all services and surgeries in house
Goals of project:
Elevate the standard of veterinary care; keep all services in house
Create a hospital with all equipment needed for treatment, diagnostics and surgery
Dr. Justin Kerr decided that all the times he would regret having to send work out to referrals, thinking he’d like to do that surgery or had the modality to diagnose issue, went from “I wish I had that” or “I wish I could do that” to “I resolve to do have that and I resolve to do that.”
Help from his local territory manager, equipment specialist and clinic designer helped him turn his resolve into reality to create Burnt Store Animal Hospital in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Kerr’s 3,050 square-foot practice has everything he needs – from NewTom CT to Radmedix X-ray, from ultrasound to CE laser therapy. Funny enough, though, his favorite piece of equipment is the Aesculap Caiman – the vessel sealer that came along with his laparoscopic bundle. “That is the single thing in this clinic that I could not do my job without!”
