Rusty Ridge Animal Center in Minooka, Illinois, one hour southwest of Chicago, is an enormous barn-like building surrounded by corn fields. It’s situated in the midst of three Illinois counties.

The building was slated to become a doggy daycare, but when COVID hit, that idea and the funding for it fizzled. It is in this footprint that Dr. Joe Chow and his CVT (and wife) Micayla Chow built this 16,000-square-foot practice. But they first started the practice in a Ford F-250, doing mobile, door-to-door service – during COVID.

The center has something for everyone – from grooming to hydrotherapy to the newest CT on the market. Equipment was selected for its ability to give community pets state-of-the-art medical care, from cats to dogs to goats to guinea pigs.
