Challenge: Create a new facility while still running the existing practice

Goals of project:

Build a new, bigger clinic but retain the honesty Jamacha is known for

Create a larger clinic to offer more services, such as surgery and dentals

Plan for future growth in freestanding facility

Dr. Michael Kirkpatrick’s Jamacha Pet Vets moved from a strip mall location at 1,300 square feet in El Cajon to a freestanding space at 7,000 square feet in Santee. The team is close-knit and was used to being able to shout out to the back to see if a patient was ready to check out. The old facility had a few windows in the front and was in a strip mall. The new facility has wide-open spaces and sun streams in from both sides of the building.

Located in the San Diego area, it’s a much bigger space and home base for a former professional basketball player from Germany who went to vet school in Scotland.
