Jaw snare that allows a veterinarian to relieve a dystocia more easily, especially those with a head that is presented below the brim of the maternal pelvis. Once attached, it is designed to fit over the veterinarians shoulders so that a downward turned head can be manipulated without assistance. This means that traction force and timing is entirely up to the person with their hand in the cow and on the fetus. This avoids the situation where an assistant pulls too forcefully or at the wrong time. Pulling force is much more easily generated by merely holding onto the snare handle and standing more upright, greatly reducing any pulling effort with an arm.
