Overview This popular plate style was designed to allow for varying degrees of screw insertion. When the screw head impinges on the surface of the plate the plate moves awat from the fracture, compressing the fracture plane. Strategically placing a screw at the end of a plate hole furthest from the fracture plane will force the bone ends together. Subsequent screws can be added to increase compression.
